Daddy gets to feed Sophie
Michael got to feed his daughter for the first time today and Sophie got to try out her first bottle. We are only breast feeding and they say to wait at least a month before introducing a bottle so the baby doesn't get confused and forget how to nurse. We hit a month and now we get to share some of the feeding duties, which is great for me, although I still have to pump everytime he feeds her anyway. It was so great to watch him get to connect more with her. She was a pro and had no problems with the bottle.

My Favorite Chair
Dear Nana The Great, (sophia's great grandmother)
Thank you so much for my favorite chair. I sit in it all the time. It's the only time mommy can get things done. It's fun to watch her run around and get as much done as she can before I start crying. Sometimes I just fake cry just to tease her.
Love
Sophia

Last Week with Mom
So Mom left Saturday morning and now we are adjusting to do everything ourselves. So far it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I've now been home alone with Sophia for 2 days and we've managed just fine. We have even ventured out both days. Yesterday we did the Target run and today we did the Chiropractic run (for me not her.) I'm tired, but I've learned ot try and nap when she naps. Michael has been amazing. He's doing all the laundry, grcoery shopping, and cooking dinner. He's such a great Daddy and Husband. We sure love him.

Back from the hospital....
So for those that don't already now we were in the hospital with Sophia all week. I took her to the Dr. on Monday for her to be treated for thrush and we realized she was feeling really hot. Her temp was 99.7 and the Dr. sent us home and just said to monitor her and take her to ER if she went over 100. Once we got home her temp was 100.5 and off to ER we went. We got there around 4pm on Monday and didn't realize what a long week we were in for. They started running lots of tests on her. They did blood work, Xray, urine sample (with a catheter), and did a spinal on her. It was all horrible. They had to do a spinal twice because the first one didn't work. She was so stressed and crying so hard that her head broke out in a rash of all these little blood vessels. We were there until 4am and then the ambulance came and took us over to CHOC (Children's hospital of Orange County.) We were admitted there and just finally got back home. She was hooked up to iv's and monitor's and was being flushed with 3 different kinds of antibiotics. They were running all the tests to rule out the serious problems that it could possibly be. At first they thought it was a urinary tract infection, then they thought it was meningitis. We finally got the results today and everything was negative. They said she probably just had some viral infection and the meds she was on flushed it out of her system. She was such a trooper and continued to be my smiling happy baby through it all. I was a mess in the beginning, but seemed to hold it together all in all. I never want to have to got through that again or have her go through that again. So thank you all for your prayers and calls. Sophia is now laying with Daddy and very happy to be home.

One Happy Baby
I know everyone says it's gas, but how can you see this happy baby and not think that this is a genuine smile. Week 2 was great. She sure eats and poops a lot, but overall she really is a content baby. Michael went back to work this week and we missed having him around. My mom is still staying with us and thank God for her. She has been doing ALL the cooking, cleaning, and laundry. I'm not sure how I will do everything once she leaves. I only have her for one more week. We had to take Sophia back to the hospital this week to have her blood work done again. The Doctor called us and her thyroid levels came back high. That scared us a bit. Luckily everything is fine and her levels are back to normal.
She is the best baby ever and we can't imagine our lives without her!!!
