What our Baby Girl is up to this week......

This is what my book tells me for this week....

At this point you’ve pretty much adjusted to the fact you’ve got a moving little gymnast inside of you, but now they’re going to kick up the party a notch because they can hear and react to sounds from the outside world. Sounds from your alarm clock, a thunder roll, or that darned car honking at you across the intersection can actually jar their little ears enough to elicit a kick or violent bout of squirming. Of course this also means that their little ears are picking up the sounds of your voice and those near you. So go ahead, sing a lullaby to your little angel—if they start kicking, it’s likely they just want you to stop… or maybe it was a kick of approval? You decide. Your baby's tiny taste buds are still growing and their bones are continuing to ossify (harden), their tiny veins are visible through their translucent yet wrinkly skin. (Think of it this way: they’ve been swimming in the equivalent of a long hot bath for the past 23 weeks, so you can’t blame them for being a little prune-like.)

And how's mom doing? If no one warned you about the joys of the pregnancy-sleep-challenge, you’ve probably already started to discover just how difficult it can be to find adequately comfortable sleeping positions. The good news is: some people actually invented pillows specifically designed to give a pregnant woman a better chance of sleeping through the night. There are a variety of different designs, but inevitably you’ll want some sort of belly support as well as a body pillow between your legs and under your belly to relieve a bit of the discomfort you're sure to be experiencing right now. If you choose to buy the (rather spendy) pregnancy pillows they've got on the market, make sure you keep the receipt as some women still have problems sleeping and fare better with their own unique pillow collection and set-up
As if there's not enough to keep track of already, are you remembering to drink lots of fluids? Plenty of good ol’ fashioned H20 (water) can help reduce swelling in your poor ankles and feet-- resulting from the pressure your now over-sized uterus is putting on your pelvic veins, thereby slowing fluid circulation to the lower half of your body. Also, if you want to further reduce the dreaded appearance of pregnancy “cankles” (calf-ankles) try to avoid sitting for long periods of time—and for the hundredth time: don’t forget to stay active! Keeping your fluid intake up is also good for your little resident swimmer as dehydration is frequently connected with premature birthing. Yep, it’s a lot of responsibility, but you can do it! You’re almost two-thirds of the way there already! Keep up the good work mom!

I'm 23 weeks today!!!

I don't understand how this is going by so fast. I'm not ready for all this to happen yet and before I know, this little baby is going to be coming out. We haven't even started her room yet. I really hope this all comes together. We have another check up next week and they're going to be testing me for diabetes. I think that's really all I have left for tests. HOPEFULLY. I'm not a big fan of all these needles. I will post a new belly picture next week because that will be my 6 month picture.
Our little sweet pea is REALLY active. I know most of you heard me complain about how I don't feel anything and I was really anxious to feel her move........ well now she doesn't stop. Last night while we were laying in bed she had a fit in my stomach. We started talking to her to see if she would move around so Michael could feel her. About 5 minutes later I flinched because she kicked so hard. It's kind of creepy. You can see her kick all over my stomach. It feels like she's going to pop out of my belly button. She is actually kicking right now as I right this. I wish Michael could really feel how amazing this is. I know a lot of women say they wish guys went through all this so we wouldn't have to.....
I wouldn't give this up for the world.

The Day Of....

So everything went great. No problems and both the bride and groom showed up at the alter. I couldn't have asked for more. It was tuff not having my mom there to do my hair and makeup, but I got over it. The girls did a great job on every one's hair and makeup. I will say that I am so upset that I did not get even one picture of Michael and I together. He looked SOOOOO great. I was running around the whole time and it completely slipped my mind.

What do you think of my hair mom?

Me and the Beautiful Bride!!!!

I had to have flip flops on for most of the night because the other shoes were very painful.

On top of the boat, before the ceremony.

Just before walking down the aisle......

Love you my little pumpkin butt. I hope I was a good matron of honor for you and I hope your day was everything you wanted and more!!!!

My Best Friends Wedding Rehearsal

So I must say I am exhausted. It's been a really long week with lots of activities. On Wednesday we had Jessica's Rehearsal dinner. We had a great time. I can't say it's easy being a Matron of Honor, but I really did enjoy it. I love getting dressed up for things like that. I got this new dress (perfect for pregnant people, but not a maternity dress) I didn't really get any good pictures wearing it so you'll just have to take my word for it.

We Finally Registered!!!

I have put a link on here for our registry list at Babies R Us. Feel free to check it out. For those that are moms and those that are having babies please give me your input on things that I have registered for. If you see things on there that I really don't need or maybe something that I forgot, let me know.
For family and friends that get us Christmas presents every year....... you are more than welcome to get us gifts off the registry rather than gifts for us. We know we have a lot on there and figured we would just get a head start.
Presents for our little girl are presents for us anyway!!!!

Baby Movement

So I had a pretty eventful weekend. I was lucky enough to have my Dad come stay with us for the weekend. He was on business in San Diego and then drove up to our place. It was a wonderful visit and I'm so lucky to have him as my DAD. On Saturday I had a big Cookie Lee party at my house and Dad and Michael helped me get everything ready and even entertained all the ladies. They left after a little while, too many girls, and went to run some errands. When they came back Michael walked in with a huge bouquet of flowers for me. Man I love him. My girlfriend Elishia came with her 5 week old baby and I just couldn't let go of her. It was great to ask her all of my questions and Michael had lots of questions too. He looked so great holding her. It's crazy how something like that can make you look at someone in a whole new light. I loved him even more at that moment.

On Sunday Dad and I went to church and in the middle of the service I was pretty sure I was finally feeling her move. It was around 11:45am. Same time as the ultrasound we had when the doctor said she was going crazy in my tummy. I wasn't 100% sure, but I would say 85% sure. I wrote it on a piece of paper and showed it to Dad. He just looked at me and smiled.

Then this afternoon at 12pm exactly I felt it again. This time I sat on the couch and watched my stomach. I could actually see it bounce out every so often in my lower stomach. I can't believe that I am finally feeling it at 21 weeks. Then to top it all off, tonight after dinner, I decided to sit on the couch and watch my tummy some more. Michael was sitting right next to me. Just like that.... I felt it again. Big time. My hand was on my lower stomach and I could feel it from the inside and the outside. I quickly put Michael's hand on my stomach and after a few seconds it did it again, but even harder. Michael looked at my with these huge eyes and said, "Was that you?" I told him that was our little baby girl. He was able to feel it a few times and then we just sat back and watched and you could see her kick my stomach. I'm so happy now. I'm never going to be able to sleep tonight. I'm just way too excited.

New Ultrasound Pictures!!!

Ok so I've been getting yelled at lately that I don't update this enough. I will try to do it more often, I promise. We had our 20 week check-up last Wednesday and everything went great. I have now gained a total of 6 pounds, so stop telling me to eat. I am eating plenty and me and the baby are growing everyday. We got the test results from our AFP test (that tests for any abnormalities that the baby may have, everything came back perfect. My belly is measuring right where it should and the heartbeat is going wild!!!
It's crazy to see just how quick everything has popped out. My belly just all of a sudden appeared in this last week. Now you can finally tell that I am pregnant. Yeah!!! I still feel great and so far this pregnancy has been a breeze.
Our Doctor was not able to confirm the sex of the baby because the little legs were crossed so we went to have another ultrasound on Friday just to make sure that it is indeed a girl.
Low and behold...................a girl it is.
The new pictures are below. We got to watch her for about 25 minutes. She was going nuts in there. She was pretty much bouncing off every side of me and kicking her legs everywhere. The Doctor said she has never seen a baby move that much in there. She's going to be a soccer player for sure. It was so crazy to watch. We got to see her opening her mouth and could even see her tongue moving. The doctor even gave us a peek at what the 4D ultrasound will look like. We actually saw her little face in there.
SHE DEFINITELY HAS MICHAEL'S NOSE!!!!!
I can't believe I don't feel her yet. I'm so ready to feel the flutters and the kicks, but so far nothing. Everyone keeps saying any day now. We shall see.

Pictures from this week, Week 19!!!!

This one is from today.

Michael didn't want Sammy to feel left out so he dressed her up like a baby!!!

I officially look pregnant. For all of you that thought I was lying....take a look now. Just within this last week I think I doubled in size. I'm scared to step on that scale next week.
