Mama..... I don't feel good

Hanging out in the window

While Sophie was sick this weekend we tried everything to take her mind off it and get her to stop crying. That included sitting in the window watching the rain.

What a weekend......

So nobody warned me about how hard it is when your child is sick. I was not prepared for this. Sophie has been sick since Tuesday and this weekend was the worst of it. My Dad was also here visiting for the weekend and got to see Sophie's best side. haha
I think Friday night I got about 3 hours sleep and Saturday night, barely 2 hours sleep. I spent the whole night rocking Sophie and trying to get her to stay asleep when I put her in her crib. My forearms were actually sore from patting her on the butt all night, trying to get her to sleep. It was ruff to say the least. She was coughing, had a fever, runny snot every where, and so sleepy. I felt so bad for her because there is really nothing you can give them at this age other than tylenol. I think we are all still recovering today and hopefully the worst is over.

Sleep is soooo overrated

Actually I really cherish my sleep and lately little Miss Sophie
has not been allowing me to have any of it.
So, she is almost 10 months and is going through this, "I'm going to wake up crying a lot in the night and then stare at you for two hours while you try and put me back to bed."
"Then when you lay me down, cause you think I'm sleeping,
I will wake up and make you start all over."
If any of you Mother's out there have any tips for me I will gladly take all of them and try whatever I can. Michael and I feel like we did when Sophie was a newborn. I thought I had it so good. Sophie had been sleeping through the night since right after she was 3 months. Now I'm being reminded of how lucky I was.
So with this little note........ tips, tips, tips. PLEASE.

Earthquake

Well we had yet another one. A 5.0 centered pretty close to us. They are nothing to Michael but it just seems to me like you can't ever get used to that feeling. While it's happening you just keep thinking, "Is it going to get worse?" Luckily it didn't. It really freaked out Sammy though and me of course. Right before it happened Sammy kept jabbing me with her nose and crying to go out. I thought she was just being a pain in the butt. Then the earthquake hit and she jumped up on the couch with Daddy and Sophie. Our dog is such a wuss. Well..... I can't say much... my eyes always well up with any earthquake too.
