36 Weeks and I'm over it

So now I know why they say the last month is the hardest. I want to be done so bad. I'm huge, emotional, and uncomfortable. All my books say everything is done with the babies organs, bones, and that she is healthy to deliver at any point now............ so why do I have to wait another month? Why can't we really be pregnant for 9 months instead of 10?

Sorry for venting I had a bad day. We had our check up today and it was so unexciting. I thought they were going to check me and see if I'm dilated at all, even though I know I'm not. They didn't do anything fun. To top it all off I gained 6 pounds in the past 2 weeks. Not thrilled about that. That made some tears fall. Then tonight we were supposed to have a breast feeding class and when we went it was difficult to find and there was no one there. I was already irritated. This lady came in wondering why we were there and she said the class doesn't start for another half hour. I'm so glad that they told me the wrong time. I wasn't about to wait around so we left. When we got home Michael knew I was really grouchy so he turned to spa way down so I could take a soak a relax. I must say my mood is a little better now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Beach Date

Things have really been stressful lately and seemingly non-stop so I decided to surprise Michael with a beach date. I told him to block off his whole Saturday for a date with me and Sammy. He seemed fine with it even though I know in the back of his head he was probably thinking about everything left to get done.
We've never taken Sammy to the beach (bad parents) so I thought it would be fun to take her to doggie beach and then have a nice picnic lunch. That we did. Sammy had a ball. She chased around all the other dogs, ran through the sand, and ran from the water. She was not too thrilled with the waves. In fact every time one crashed she jumped up and ran. It was really funny. She finally went in a little if we were right next to her, but was not about to chase a ball in the water.
We had a wonderful picnic and it was a nice treat to get away for a little while and relax. We were all so tired after our adventure that we all took a well needed nap when we got home.

My Chuchie Sis

For those that don't know who I am talking about, my Chuchie Sis is my aunt. We call her Chuchie because we are a Russian family and in Russian "Chuchie" stands for "Aunt." Got it??
So while she was out here for the baby shower she also got us the coolest gift. She loves to do themes. Every Xmas, Birthday, you name it..... your gift is a theme. It's never just one gift. It's lots of gifts all related to each other. For instance one year for Xmas it was a lady bug theme. I got everything you could ever imagine with lady bugs on it. Socks, robe, slippers, candles, wind mill, stuffed animal... and the list could keep going. So for the baby shower the theme was rubber duckies. I opened her gift after the baby shower because we knew it would take awhile. We got probably 40 things all having to do with rubber duckies. Even down to the wrapping paper and what everything came in. We got towels, toys, books, bath tub, soap, bottle bag, poop bags, stuffed animals, robe, slippers, and so one.... all with rubber duckies on it. You just gotta love Chuchie Sis. Everyone should have a Chuchie Sis!!!!

Another Baby Shower

Not only were we blessed with one shower....we got two. Michael's work had a wonderful shower for us as well. It was great. The whole office went to this cute restuarant in Newport Beach and we got lots more gifts. I love presents!!!!!
The restuarant even brought us out a cake.

34 Week Check Up

All is well in the baby bartle womb. She's still very lively in there and no signs of slowing down. I'm still measuring normal even though I know she's going to be a big baby. I only gained 1 pound this visit!!! Yeah. I'm still on track. That means I'm up to 21 pounds with 6 weeks left. The heart rate was good and overall a boring Dr. visit. I go back in 2 weeks for my first real exam. They will check to see if I am dialated at all and I will then be going to the Dr. once a week. Home stretch!!! I will have Michael take some new pictures tonight of my ever expanding belly. I'm still feeling great and working out. Sammy loves all these walks she's been getting. She's really been a great dog. When my stomach is out she puts her nose up against it and licks me. She knows something is in there. I think she's hoping it's another puppy and not a baby. Poor spoiled Sammy.

34 weeks!!!!

What's going on with baby and mom:
Your amazing baby is on the move! They’ve been riding fairly high in your stretched-out womb till now (while kindly compressing your poor internal organs), but now they’re planning on making the big move to your pelvis this week. If you haven’t noticed it already, you’ll be feeling the weight shift that signals that your baby is most likely out of breech position, with their head now resting on your pubic bone. In liver news: although not quite fully formed, your little miracle’s liver is now capable of processing a certain amount of waste. In general, most of your child’s prenatal physical development is pretty much up to snuff and ready for the outside world. Naturally, further weight gain is expected—so you’re still not at maximum capacity despite probably feeling like you definitely are maxed out.
Obviously the big change for you is the notable weight shift (known as “lightening” or “engagement”). Now that your baby is resting deeper in your pelvis, you may find yourself walking as if you're carrying a watermelon between your legs. Yes dear, you’re officially “waddling” these days. Try to comfort yourself with this thought: it’s nearly over. Soon, you’ll just have to carry your adorable little watermelon in your arms. And in a rare spate of good news: this weight shift means you can breathe easier now that your lungs aren’t compressed. The not-so-good news, it’s a trade off: (we’ll wait till you’re back from the restroom) this new position has your poor bladder even more squished than before. We’d recommend writing your bladder little love poems to convince it not to leave you altogether, but unfortunately bladders don’t speak English (only Italian love poems will do).
If you've recently noticed some less-than-appealing itchy red bumps on your belly (and possibly around your thighs and belly), you've got yourself a harmless but not fun round of pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP if your don't have the patience for the full name). If you feel itchy ALL over your body, that's different, and you should call your health care practitioner as this could be a liver problem.
At your next check up you can expect your physician to conduct a Group B Streptococci test (GBS), a common bacteria screening. As long as you have a strong immune system, you’re in the clear (one more reason to eat right and exercise!), but your little one is more susceptible to serious health complications (including meningitis, pneumonia and blood infection) if not diagnosed and treated properly—so the tests are good for some peace of mind. Hang in there momma, you’re already a super-star for making it this far!
